Power-plant Command & Communication
The IOB4 sits between the GENCON and a Cummins engine. Over the engine's J1939 datalink it keys and cranks the engine, passes the GENCON's speed commands, and shows engine faults on the GENCON with the Cummins fault code and text. On the board: 16 optically isolated inputs, 8 changeover relays, K-thermocouple, 4-20 mA and 0-5 V inputs, two PWM outputs, an isolated CANbus port, an optional isolated RS485 Modbus port, and USB. It runs its own cForth kernel, so a user program can be added.
Requires GENCON firmware 39v or later and, where a Communicator is installed, COMM2 PRO firmware modbus.148 or later; both ship with GMESS.
The engineer guide (24 pages: wiring, set-up, J1939, the ECU simulator, witness testing) and the application package are in the download folder on the Software page.
